The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a youth following an assault at the Tilbury District High School earlier this month.
On November 5, 2013, a 16-year-old Tilbury youth entered into an agreement with other classmates, that he would allow them to slap him, in return for financial compensation. Upon being slapped by the second participant, he lost consciousness and fell to the ground striking his head. The youth was transported via ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. Upon examination, he was transported to the London Health Sciences Centre where further tests revealed that he had suffered a concussion. The youth was hospitalized for several days, but has since been released.
Through investigation, officers learned that an 18-year-old Tilbury student was responsible for the injuries. On Saturday, November 23, 2013, he was arrested and charged with assault causing bodily harm. He was released with conditions pending a future court date.
