(Peterborough, ON) – Peterborough Northumberland Victim Services & Support Link (VCARS) are requesting the public’s assistance for donations of used cell phones and chargers.
Any member of the public wishing to donate a used cell phone and charger should drop them off at the front desk of Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, 453 Lansdowne St. E, Peterborough.
These phones will be electronically wiped then pre-programmed to dial only 9-1-1 and freely given to victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Criminal Harassment for use as a safety tool.
For further information please contact Ashley Fontaine Program Coordinator or Ashley-Lynn Whyte Client Support Coordinator at 1-888-822-7729.
EDITOR’S NOTE: We know this is out of our regular coverage area, but we thought this idea/program was worth mentioning. If you want to volunteer or possibly donate your old phone, contact Victim Services of Huron County
