On April 5, 2016 members of the Guelph Police Service Traffic unit attended to the intersection of Willow Road and Westwood Road to investigate a fail to remain collision involving a pedestrian.
It is alleged that at approximately 8:10 a.m. a southbound vehicle on Westwood Road attempted to make a left hand turn onto Willow Road. In the process, the vehicle struck a young female pedestrian crossing Willow Road within the crosswalk. The pedestrian received minor injuries to her leg. Police are actively investigating the collision and are looking for further information from any witnesses who may have been in the area. The responsible vehicle is described as an older model, possibly 1990’s, GMC Safari van that is deep red in colour.
Police would like to speak with the driver of this vehicle, and urge anyone with information to contact Constable M. Cutting, at 519-824-1212 extension 7245. Anonymous tips can be left at CRIME STOPPERS 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submitted online at www.csgw.tips.
