Barrie Police observed a very intoxicated woman in the downtown core before 8pm tonight. She was not walking too efficently and did not appear to be in a position to take care of herself. The 29 year old local woman was arrested and taken into custody for her own safety. She was clearly under the influence of alcohol and in a drunken state.
She will be released once sober and will be required to pay a Provincial Offences fine for being intoxicated in public. No one was injured in this incident.
