Woman Cuts And Barricades Male In Owen Sound

On Saturday, November 28th at 7:00 a.m. police received a 911 call from a man alleging he had been assaulted with a knife by his girlfriend in their apartment located in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East.

Investigation revealed that at 4:00 a.m. a woman had returned home to her apartment in an intoxicated state. Her 49- year old boyfriend was unhappy, and an argument ensued. After a short time it escalated to the point where the woman shut down the apartment’s electricity, and slashed the man’s pinky finger with a knife. After cleaning the wound the woman is alleged to have assaulted him with the knife a second time, this time cutting him in the area of his left temple and eye. While tending to his injuries, the woman barricaded him in the washroom, confining him for approximately 2 hours. Once the culprit settled down, the man was able to escape and call police from a nearby phone booth.

The man was transported by ambulance to hospital in Owen Sound and received stitches and first aid for his injuries. Later that afternoon police executed a search warrant on the apartment and seized evidence consistent to the allegations. Police are seeking an arrest warrant for the 48-year old culprit, who remains outstanding.
