The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a woman in connection with a shoplifting incident last night in Chatham.
Around 6:00 p.m. the woman entered Shopper’s Drug Mart on Queen Street. An employee observed the woman select a skin care product valued at $16.00. The woman removed the packaging and concealed the item in her pants. The woman left the store making no attempt to pay for the merchandise.
The woman was approached by the employee and police were called. The woman returned the stolen item.
Amanda Altiman, 25 years, of Chiefs Road on Walpole Island has been charged with theft under $5000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000. She was released with conditions pending a future court date.
