Yesterday morning around 9:30 a.m. an officer was travelling westbound on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham when he observed a black Pontiac travelling in the opposite direction. The officer noticed that the vehicle had an expired validation sticker so he initiated a traffic stop. Through investigation, the officer further learned that the female driver was suspended. The woman also could not provide the officer with a permit or proof of insurance for the vehicle.
The 35-year-old Chatham woman was charged with:
– Driving while under suspension
– Drive motor vehicle with no validation on plate
– Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
– Fail to surrender insurance card
– Use validation not furnished for vehicle
She is now required to attend court in February to answer to the charges.
