On November 27th, Chatham-Kent Police received a complaint that a black car had illegally passed a school bus on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Yesterday, an officer of our Community Patrol Section through investigation; located the vehicle, resulting in the 20-year-old female driver being charged.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all motorists that they are required by law to stop for a stopped school bus with its upper red lights flashing. Once all passengers have either gotten on or off the bus, the STOP arm will fold away. Do not start moving your motor vehicle until the red lights have stopped flashing and the bus begins to move. Those drivers who disregard the law and pass a school bus, jeopardize the safety of our young people.
