On Monday, July 6th, 2015 a 42 year old female attended the Hanover Police Service and was charged with Public Mischief, contrary to Sec. 140(1) of the Criminal Code.
The charge stems from an investigation by the Hanover Police Service involving an armed robbery that had been reported on Friday, June 19th, 2015.
The allegation at that time was that the accused had been robbed at gunpoint by an unknown male on 9th Avenue north of 10th Street in Hanover.
The Police investigation has determined that the report had been fabricated.
The accused is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on July 27th, 2015.
