Woman Charged After Assaulting a Cab Driver

On Monday October 3rd, 2016 just shortly after 4:00pm, Hamilton Police responded to the area of Summers Lane and King Street West after receiving reports of an assault in progress.

It was indicated that a Hamilton Cab driver was being assaulted by a woman.

Police arrived on scene and observed the woman continuing to assault the cab driver. The officers intervened and the woman was arrested and ultimately for the assaults. The driver sustained minor injuries and declined further medical treatment.

CHARGED: A 33 year old woman from Hamilton

CHARGES: Assault

The woman has been released by way of an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in court at the John Sopinka Courthouse in court room 100 at 9:00am on November 3rd, 2016.

The Hamilton Police Hate Crime Unit has been assigned to the matter as a result of the hate bias overtones used by the accused.
