Apparently current police chief tim poole can find some time to inform the Public, and has posted a note on Facebook in the hopes of someone stumbling across it. Chief poole reminds the public to call 911 in emergencies and not to depend on them. There is also very little point dropping by their office as it is only open a few hours a week.

It has been brought to our attention that there is some misinformation regarding the Wingham Police Service being put out there in the community on other websites. We want to inform the public that the information regarding Wingham Police only being open Tuesday to Friday is incorrect! The Wingham Police are on duty 24 hours a day seven days a week. Our part time receptionist is only in the office from Tuesday to Friday. If you require police assistance anytime please call 519-357-1212 and the dispatcher will dispatch the on duty officer to your call. If you require administrative assistance, such as a records check, please call or attend our office at 519-357-1214 Tuesday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Of course emergencies should always be reported by calling 911. We do not utilize online reporting as we still believe that personal interaction is the best way to deal with the public.
