Wingham Free Press Apologizes For Treatment Of North Huron Council

Wingham Free Press would like to apologize to the public for our
treatment of North Huron council.  After attending a
Morris-Turnberry Council meeting, it is obvious that we have been
too lenient on councillors, the Mayor and heads of grossly
inefficient departments.  If we had been more critical in the
last few years, maybe NH council would have reformed by now, and it
wouldn’t be the laughing stock of Ontario. When you compare North
Huron council to Morris-Turnberry Council, NH comes in a very
distant third. 

Attending the M-T Council meeting was like entering Bizarro World,
where everything is opposite.  The chairs were comfy, the Mayor
was articulate, all Councillors had laptops, the projector was used
to display the agenda, and that was just the first glance. 
Culture Shock” is the best way describe the experience.  There
seemed to be mutual respect between all the Councillors.  Mayor
Gowing did an excellent job chairing the meeting
