Gary Long, CAO/Clerk for North Huron has sent out a letter to area
commercial and industrial property owners. This letter demands
the property owners provide him with names of tenants and the share
of the property taxes they pay. Long has demanded this
information by December 27, 2012. The BIA and Town Council
plan to ram this new tax through on area businesses, regardless of
the percentage of businesses that are opposed. There is not
going to be a vote, as far as they are concerned, everyone has
already voted yes to the BIA and their new tax. WFP thinks
this is as appalling when Morris-Turnberry was going to send out the
Fire Hall vote, and stated that if the public didn’t respond, it
would be counted as in favour of a new fire hall”.
