(GODERICH, ON) On Wednesday February 29, 2012 at 1:25 a.m. Huron County OPP officers were dispatched to the newly constructed LCBO store along Huron Road in Goderich where someone was smashing windows.
Upon police arrival it was discovered that 30 – 40 panes of glass had been broken at the new but empty store. Investigation revealed that someone had thrown bricks and cinder blocks through the windows. Police searched the area for the person responsible with negative results.
Since it would have taken at least 10 – 12 minutes to cause this extent of damage it is hoped that someone may have observed a suspicious person at or near the new LCBO between 1:15 and 1:30 a.m. The Huron OPP would like to speak to anyone who may have information about this crime. Police can be contacted at 1-888-310-1122; should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), and you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
