North Huron and Morris-Turnberry will be meeting in public to try
and put an end to the ongoing fire debacle.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Come out and
see our lethargic council in action, and how they can turn a simple
negotiation into countless meetings for which they get paid to
attend, at the taxpayers expense. What should have taken one
afternoon to resolve has turned into several public meetings,
countless staff meetings, calling in the Fire Marshal, purchasing of
land, etc. etc.
Why not attend and see council fumble as they deliver their sales
pitch to their best customer for fire suppression service. It
is very unlikely things will be resolved, especially since they get
paid for another meeting if they don’t come to an agreement.
Why resolve things when they can continue to ride the gravy train,
which is fueled by their incompetence and property taxes. It does seem
ridiculous that they couldn’t come to a compromise with M-T
when they were only a few thousand apart, and on Monday they just
cost the taxpayers over $80,000.
If NH council can’t come to a compromise with M-T, we will be on the
hook for another $200,000+/year.
$80,000 here, $200,000 there, it starts to add up, and you have to
pay for it!
