Several of you know that WFP has tried for years to get our
sidewalks cleared in the winter. In the early years asking
nicely never worked, and was met with laughter by at least one
councillor. Numerous arguments have been made to try and get
council to be receptive to helping keep our children a little
safer. If you have read all the agenda packages, you will know
people have sent letters trying to get their sidewalks clear.
All attempts by the public and WFP have failed.
Council has to know that it is safer for children to walk on a
cleared sidewalk, than walking on the road with traffic in the
winter. It is a virtual certainty that one our Citizens is
going to be injured walking on snow-packed streets, it is only a
matter of time. This clearly shows council’s blind hatred for
the WFP, as they will put our children’s safety on the line, just to
prove they don’t have to capitulate.
There was an incident near the new school, this prompted the
Principal to contact council and ask for the school signs” to be
moved
