Weed At RIDE Leads To Charges

(GUELPH-ERMAOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 22, 2017 at approximately 8:25 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks at Jones Baseline and Eastview Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township. Officers investigated the two male occupants of a red Nissan that entered into the checkpoint. Officers immediately detected the odour of fresh marihuana inside the vehicle. When asked about it the passenger surrendered a zip lock baggy containing suspected marihuana.

31-year-old Blaine MURRAY of Acton has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Over 30 Grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 10, 2017 to answer to the charges.
