Special weather statement in effect for:
Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County
Listowel – Milverton – Northern Perth County
Stratford – Mitchell – Southern Perth County
Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County
Another round of snow for much of Southern Ontario.
A fairly fast-moving disturbance centred just west of the Great Lakes this afternoon will track into Northeastern Ontario tonight. A relatively small amount of snow in the order of 5 centimetres is expected to affect most areas of Southern Ontario. Some areas near the Great Lakes may get a little more due to enhancement off the open water.
The snow spread into Southwestern Ontario this morning and will envelop the Niagara, Greater Toronto and areas north of Toronto during the afternoon. The snow may be a nuisance for the late afternoon commute especially in the Toronto region. The snow will likely accumulate quite readily on any untreated roads due to the recent cold conditions. Some local blowing snow may accompany the snow in some areas too, especially this evening when the winds pick up.
The snow will move into Central and Eastern Ontario either late this afternoon or tonight. It will taper off from west to east tonight except very early Thursday morning in Extreme Eastern Ontario.
