Weapons Call Closes Roads In ACW – Suspect Description Released – Police Advise Public To Secure Property

(ASHFIELD-COLBORNE-WAWANOSH, ON) – Huron County & South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, along with members from the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) & Canine Unit are currently on scene of a weapons related call located just north of Kintail on Belfast Road.

At about 4:30 p.m. police received information that there was a male at a farm property in illegal possession of a firearm. Due to the safety concerns for all involved parties police have set up containment around the immediate area.

Public access on the following roadways will be restricted until the situation resolves.

Belfast Road between Kintail Line & Eighteen Mile Line

Kintail Line between Belfast Road & Zion Road

Zion Road between Eighteen Mile Line & Kintail Line

Eighteen Mile Line between Belfast Road & Zion Road

The male involved in this incident is 29 years of age. He is described as being around 6′ in height and weighing around 200 pounds. He has a medium build with black hair and he was last seen wearing blue jeans and a brown sweatshirt.

As always, homeowners are encouraged to secure their property and vehicles. Lock your vehicles when they are unattended and always pocket your ignition key.

Huron OPP is requesting residents in the area to report any suspicious persons or suspicious activity on or in relation to your property. Should this male be observed on your property do not confront the male; call police by dialing 9-1-1.
