Wayne Hunt – Flight From Police, Speeding, Breach, Dangerous Driving

(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – An early morning police chase has led to an arrest and several charges against a 31 year old driver from Bruce County. Just after 8:00 a.m. this morning a Huron OPP officer observed a red Chevrolet Optra speeding westbound on Howick-Turnberry Road. The officer attempted to stop the speeder however the driver failed to stop for police. The suspect vehicle continued at a high rate of speed southbound on Keiffer Lane, failing to stop at two stop signs. In the interest of public safety the chase was terminated however the suspect vehicle was later observed and safely stopped on Harriston Road at Brussels Line.

As a result, Wayne HUNT, age 31, from Teeswater has been charged with:

Flight from Police Officer
Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle
Two counts of Drive Disqualified
Two counts of Driving while Under Suspension
Breach of Probation
Speeding

He is currently held in custody and has a scheduled court appearance set for November 14, 2012 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
