On April 20, 2014, the Guelph Police were monitoring speeds of motor vehicles with a stationary radar device on Watson Parkway North due to residents in the area complaining of vehicles travelling at excessive speeds. At approximately 1:47 p.m., police clocked a motorcycle travelling at 99 km/hr in the posted 50km/hr zone. Police found that the 34-year-old Guelph male driver had his 6-year-old daughter on the back of the motorcycle. The male was issued a Provincial Offence Notice for speeding with a $359.00 fine and four demerit points. The driver was 1 km/hr away from having his motorcycle impounded for 7 days and his licence seized for 7 days under the Provincial Street Racing legislation.
