Watch Out For Debris On Roadways

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) On Monday morning October 15, 2012, two motorists encountered fallen trees across Perth County Roadways.

At 12:01 a.m. a Municipality of West Perth resident was driving west bound on Line 42 (south east of Brodhagen), when he struck a tree that had blown over onto the road. The driver was not injured but his car sustained minor damage. A West Perth Road Department crew attended and removed the tree from the roadway.

At 3:48 a.m. a Huron Park motorist was able to stop her vehicle just in time as to avoid driving into a tree that had fallen across Line 2 south of Woodham. The tree blocked both lanes of the road and had to be removed by the Perth South Road Department.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and be vigilant for fallen trees, tree branches and debris on the roadways, as wind gusts are expected to continue throughout the day and night time hours.
