At the last council meeting, Brock Vodden stated the following.
Brock Vodden: Just a hypothetical question, would
it be appropriate or proper, for, let’s say you have issued a work
order to someone for some infraction of the code ahh, would it be
out of order for councils to say let them go, let them off this
time, they are have a tough time, or something like that. Would
that be an appropriate intervention?
Building Inspector: I think that would
be inappropriate.
Brock Vodden: OK
WFP does not know why Bock Vodden asked such an obvious
question.
A few possible reasons are:
1. It is possible he truly didn’t know the answer. If he
didn’t know, then he is not familiar with basic ethics.
2. He might of had a constituent approach him to request that
he abuse his power, and just wanted it on the record that such a
request would be inappropriate.
3. He might be aware of someone trying to get another
Councillor to abuse their power, and Vodden wanted to highlight the
incredible inappropriateness of such a scenario.
