Visually Impaired Man Has Throat Cut And Robbed Of Wallet And Cane

The Toronto Police Service would like to advise the public of an arrest in a robbery investigation.

On Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 12:30 a.m., police received a call for a robbery in the Morningside Avenue and Beath Street area.

It is alleged that:

– a 57-year-old visually impaired man exited a TTC bus and was approached by a unknown man

– the unknown man cut the visually impaired man’s throat and took the man’s wallet and his white mobility cane

– the unknown man fled the scene and left the visually impaired man without his mobility cane to find his way home

On Saturday, April 25, 2015, Emilio Georgiev, 22, of Mississauga, was arrested. He has been charged with:

1) Robbery

2) Assault Causing Bodily Harm

3) Fail to Comply with Recognizance

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Sunday, April 26, 2014, room 111, 10 a.m.
