(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – On February 17, 2018, at approximately 8:30 a.m., members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a violent assault at a rural property on McGuffin Hills Drive, North Middlesex.
The investigation thus far, has revealed that a male party entered the dwelling by force and assaulted a male resident.
The victim, a 54-year-old male was transported to hospital via land ambulance and is receiving treatment for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old male from North Middlesex has been arrested and charged with Break & Enter a Dwelling House and Aggravated Assault pursuant to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC).
The victim and accused are known to each other and police believe this event was in retaliation of a previous interaction. There is no concern for public safety.
The Middlesex County OPP Crime Unit and the West Region (WR) OPP Forensic Identification Service (FIS) continue to investigate this event.
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in London court on February 18, 2018.
