(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is investigating a recent home invasion and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects responsible.
On March 18, 2016, at approximately 5:50 pm, three males attended an apartment in a building situated at 1455 Heatherington Rd. The suspects knocked on an apartment door and asked for a male that did not reside within. When the occupant attempted to shut the door, the suspects forced their way in. Two male occupants then fought with two of the suspects. At one point a handgun, later determined to be a replica, was pointed at one of the occupants. The third suspect awakened the third occupant of the apartment, a female, who then called police. One of the male occupants was able to disarm the suspect carrying the handgun. The suspects fled the apartment to a stairwell and fled the building. During the course of the incident, a fourth person remained in the lobby. Two of the occupants suffered minor injuries that did not require additional medical attention.
The suspects are described as follows (see attached images):
#1-black male, 18-25 years, slender to average build, grey or khaki coloured pants, black coat with grey sleeves, black “hoodie” underneath (hood pulled up over head), dark coloured shoes, gloves with writing or reflective material on them, had a black and beige messenger bag across body with the bag at his back.
#2 – black male, 18-25 years, slender to average build, black pants, black coat, white shoes, white “hoodie” underneath, short dread-locks.
#3 – black male, 18-25 years, slender to average build, blue pants, jeans, black shoes, black jacket with white/red/white stripe around bicep of each arm and possibly BULLS” written across front (zipper between letters)
