(HOWICK, ON) – Two teenaged boys from Howick are facing Mischief and Theft charges following an incident that took place in Gorrie last week. On Sunday, May 21, 2017 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers received a call from a Gorrie resident that reported someone had forced entry into his motor vehicle and had stolen his wallet, wedding ring and some change.
Police attended the scene and observed the passenger side window of the vehicle to be smashed out and the glove box forced open.
With the aid of some nearby video surveillance police were able to gather a detailed description of the two suspects. Shortly thereafter the two suspects were identified and processed. A 13-year-old male and a 15-year-old male have accepted responsibility for their actions. As a result they were afforded the opportunity to participate in a youth diversion program. Should they fail to successfully complete the youth diversion program they will have to answer to their charges in court.
