Video Footage Used To Catch Owen Sound Thief

At approximately 5:40 Sunday morning (3 rd Sept. 2017) a lone male broke into a business on the west side of the city. The man had found a door that had accidentally been left unlocked. After gaining entry he rummaged through the building selecting various items. Fortunately, video surveillance of the exterior of the building captured the suspect.

Later in the day when the business owner discovered the break in and property missing, the Owen Sound Police were call. After the responding officer viewed the surveillance footage a description of the suspect was broadcasted to the other patrol units who happened to be currently dealing with the suspect in an unrelated matter on the east side of the city. The 25 year old male was taken into custody without incident. He will be appearing on Monday morning for a bail hearing for the charges of Break, Enter and Theft, as well as being in Possession of Stolen Property. All property taken was recovered by police and return to the owner.
