Victims Robbed At Gunpoint Near Food Basics

On Thursday July 21, 2016 at approximately 1:00 a.m., three males were walking along University Avenue, when a male suspect appeared from out of the trees between University Avenue and the Food Basic’s Plaza near Fischer Hallman Road. The suspect was described as a black male in his early 20s, heavier build, wearing a black nylon over his face, black hoodie, black track pants and red high top running shoes.

The suspect approached the three victims holding what appeared to be a handgun at his side. The suspect told the victims to give him all of their stuff, cocked the gun and pointed it at them. The victims provided the suspect with their property and fled. The victims were not injured. Police are asking the public to please contact the Waterloo Regional Police Service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, if they have any information regarding the incident.
