Veteran South Bruce OPP Officer Retires After Nearly 1/2 Centry Of Service

(KINCARDINE, ON) – On May 31st, 2012, Sergeant Dave Quinn #8560 is retiring, thereby ending a policing career that spans nearly a ½ century. During his 46 year career, Sgt Quinn served with: Petrolia Police, Point Edward Police, Hanover Police, Chesley Police (Chief), Kincardine Police and the Ontario Provincial Police. Prior to policing, he served with the Canadian Army as a member of the 1st Canadian Guards.

Sgt Quinn has earned awards during his career, including: UN Medal Cyprus, Canadian Peace Keeping Medal, Queen Elizabeth 2nd Silver Jubilee Medal and Canadian Medal for Bravery.

His community service includes: past member of the recreation board, baseball coach, hockey coach, foster parent, Royal Canadian Legion member and past chair of the Bruce County Children’s Aid society.

Local media are invited to the South Bruce OPP (Kincardine) detachment board room on Tuesday May 15th, 2012 at 1:00 pm to speak to Sgt Quinn. Photographs and questions will be welcomed.
