Vehicle Vs Pedestrian Collision In Owen Sound

On December 31, 2016 at approximately 4:45pm a 64 year old male was snowblowing his driveway in the 2500 block of 3 rd Avenue West. At the same time a 31 year old Owen Sound male was travelling northbound on 3 rd Avenue West in a 2004 Honda. The 31 year old hit the east shoulder and in doing so overcorrected his steering causing his vehicle to cross over to the west side of the roadway.

The back end of the Honda clipped the snowblower being operated by the 64 year old male causing the blower to flip. The 64 year old male was hanging onto the snowblower and as a result sustained a minor injury to his right arm that did not require medical attention. Both the vehicle and snowblower sustained minimal damage. The roads were slippery with both snow and rain falling at the time of the accident.
