SUSPECT APPREHENSION PURSUIT

On Monday, January 30, 2017 the Waterloo Regional Police Service BEAT (Break, Enter and Auto Theft) Team arrested and charged a 34-year-old Kitchener man in connection to a hit-and-run collision that occurred on January 18, 2017, at the intersection of Belmont Avenue West and Queens Boulevard in Kitchener.
It is alleged that the involved vehicle had been stolen from Huron County on Sunday, January 15, 2017. The individual attended a bail hearing and faces numerous criminal and provincial offences. The incident continues to be investigated by the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). The SIU is an arms length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
