(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Saturday December 31, 2011 around 7:30 a.m. Perth County OPP officers were called to a collision on Line 2 east of Perth Road 151 (South West of St.Marys).
Investigation revealed that a white Ford F-150 pickup truck being driven by a 24 year old Granton man was heading west bound on Line 2 East of Perth Road 151 when it drove into the back of a parked pickup truck on the north side of the road. The parked pickup truck was a black GMC Sierra truck which had been left on the side of the road by a 47 year old male driver from Millbrook who was hunting in a nearby wooded area.
Both vehicles sustained substantial damage and needed to be towed out of the north ditch. At the time of the collision visibility was poor due to inclement weather conditions.
No injuries were sustained in the collision.
The Perth County OPP wants to remind motorists to refrain from parking on the shoulders of roadways as this hampers snow removal. Poor visibility due to winter conditions also makes leaving a vehicle on the shoulders dangerous to other motorists.
