(WELLINGTON COUNTY, ON) The County of Wellington OPP are reminding motorists to take extra care on our roads and highways as the winter weather continues. Poor travel conditions are expected today with forecasts of freezing rain on the way which could cause adverse road conditions.
OPP encourage motorists to respond to the rapidly-changing road conditions by reducing speed and leaving extra space to adjust to reduced braking ability on slippery roads. Weather changes can occur suddenly and dramatically. Wind, rain and drops in temperature can drastically change road conditions. Driving defensively and responsibly while exercising patience and good judgement will ensure you and your loved ones will reach your destination safely.
Finally, please DO NOT call the Provincial Communications Centre (PCC) (Dispatch) for road and weather conditions. Police will not provide this information. Calling the PCC ties up phone lines that others depend upon for emergency situations.
