Update: TRANSPORT TRUCK AND MINIVAN COLLIDE – Charges have been laid

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police have concluded their investigation into the July 31, 2014, collision that occurred at the intersection of Perth Road 121 and Line 67.

In this collision a Chrysler Town and Country minivan with seven occupants travelling south on Perth Road 121 was struck in the intersection of Line 67 by a west bound Peterbilt truck pulling a trailer loaded with gravel.

As a result of the OPP investigation, the following charges have been laid:

The driver of the Peterbilt truck, Mike DONKERS (23) of the Municipality of North Perth, has been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act of Ontario offences; “careless driving”, and “fail to accurately complete daily inspection report”. He is to appear in Stratford Provincial Offences Court on September 23, 2014 to answer to these charges.

The company that owns the Peterbilt truck, DONEGAN’S HAULAGE Ltd. of the Municipality of North Perth, has been charged with the following Highway Traffic Act of Ontario offence; “fail to ensure daily inspection report is accurately completed”. The company is also to appear in Stratford Provincial Offences Court on September 23, 2014 to answer to this charge.
