UPDATE-SERIOUS CRASH CLOSES INTERSECTION
(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) On Saturday May 4, 2013, at approximately 4:11pm, officers from the County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious crash in the intersection of Wellington Road 34 and Wellington Road 35, in Puslinch Township.
A motor vehicle travelling northbound on Wellington Road 35 stopped at the stop sign at Wellington Road 34 and then proceeded northbound into the path of a vehicle travelling eastbound on Wellington Road 34.
The two elderly occupants of a 2011 Toyota Corolla were transported to Guelph General Hospital. The male driver William HAZEL aged 81 of Glanbrook, Ontario, has since succumbed to his injuries. The female passenger is listed in stable condition. The driver and passengers of a 2007 Lincoln were not injured.
West Region OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
