– Investigation update –
(BRANT TWP, ON) – On January 21st, 2012 at 10:50 am, the South Bruce OPP was called to the scene of a single vehicle crash along Bruce County Road 10 in Brant Township. Preliminary investigation revealed a pick up truck collided with a pedestrian on Bruce County Road 10.
The pedestrian, a 21 year old Brant Township man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is assisting the South Bruce OPP at the scene.
Bruce County Road 10 was closed between Concession 14 and Concession 12, Brant Township for the safety of emergency responders, but is now open for traffic.
21 year old Joel HOPKINS of West Grey Township was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the contact with the pickup truck.
Following a thorough investigation, assisted by Technical Collision Investigators, no charges are being laid.
