(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Tuesday April 03, 2012, shortly after 7 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a two vehicle collision on Perth Road 119 between Road 126 and Road 130.
Investigation revealed that a westbound Chevrolet Malibu crossed over into the east- bound lane striking the driver’s side of an eastbound Ford F350 flatbed truck.
As a result of this impact the driver of the Malibu, Gary Pestell (59) from Monkton, was transported to Stratford General Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the F350, a 35 year old male from Ayton, was taken to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries.
The road will remain closed until the noon hour allowing the Western Region OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Unit to investigate the crash, and to assist in the safe removal of the wreckages.
