(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) Shortly after 6:15 a.m. on Tuesday July 30, 2013, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a serious collision on Perth Road 121 south of Millbank.
Investigation revealed that a 2002 Red Chevrolet Avalanche truck had been travelling south bound on Perth Road 121 when it crossed the north bound lane, entered the east ditch and struck a tree with the driver’s side of the vehicle. The lone male occupant was determined to be deceased. The Township of Perth East Fire Department extricated the deceased from the vehicle.
The deceased male has been identified as Jonathon LUCAS a 32 year old resident of the Municipality of West Perth.
Perth Road 121 between Line 61 and Line 67 is expected to remain closed until the noon hour to allow for the removal of the vehicle and to ensure the safety of the West Region OPP Technical Traffic Investigators who remain at the scene.
