Unknown Man Charged With 2X Assault, Assault With Weapon, Resist Arrest, 3X Mischief

(TOWN OF FERGUS, ON) – On Tuesday October 2, 2012 at approximately 5:15pm County of Wellington OPP officers received a call of a domestic dispute that had just occurred at a residence on St. Andrew Street in the Town of Fergus. Further information was received that the male had left the residence on foot.

The male suspect was observed by police and after a short foot pursuit the male was apprehended and taken into custody. Further investigation revealed prior criminal offences had taken place, however, had not been reported to police.

A 24 year old Fergus man has been charged with Assaut x2, Assault with a Weapon, Resist Arrest, and Mischief x3 contrary to the Criminal Code. He was scheduled to appear in Guelph Bail Court on October 3, 2012 to answer to the charges.
