Tyler HUSNIK – Flight From Police, Dangerous Operation Of Motor Vehicle

(HURON EAST, ON) – A driver that failed to pull over for police is now facing a court date for his decision to lead police on a short chase. At 12:30 a.m. on January 18, 2014 a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed the driver of a Suzuki Sidekick fail to stop for a stop sign at the intersection of Sports Drive and Turnberry Street in Brussels. The officer activated his emergency lights and siren however the driver turned onto Turnberry Street and accelerated as he attempted to evade police. A short distance away he lost control of his vehicle and slid into a snowbank on Queen Street.

The driver was promptly arrested for Fail to Stop for Police and Dangerous Driving. The driver was searched incident to arrest and a small quantity of marijuana was located.

As a result, 19 year old Tyler HUSNIK from Morris-Turnberry has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police Officer and Possession of a Scheduled II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana. He was also served with a ticket for Class G2 Licence Holder – Drive Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Concentration Above Zero.

He will have to attend court on these charges on April 10, 2014 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Wingham.
