Tyler Hiltz Added To Hall Of Shame – 2 Counts Assault Police, Break and Enter, Weapon, Breach

2 OFFICERS INJURED WHILE ARRESTING MALE

(WALKERTON, ON) – On Wednesday, July 9, 2012, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a reported break-in at the Jackson Street apartments just before 2:00 a.m.

Upon their arrival the officers were confronted by a male suspect holding a claw hammer. The male resisted arrest and as a result caused police to use a Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) in order to gain control of him and affect an arrest. The male party was subdued and arrested without further incident.

Two officers were taken to Walkerton hospital for injuries sustained during the confrontation. Both were treated and released.

Police have charged 20-year-old Tyler HILTZ of West Grey with 2 counts of Assault Police, Break and Enter, Possession of a Weapon and Breach of Probation contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for today at 2:00 p.m.
