Two Youths Involved In Collision Charged

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) – On July 8, 2017 at approximately 5:54 p.m., Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with Bruce County Paramedic Services (EMS) and the South Bruce Fire Department, responded to a collision involving a 1990 Kawasaki 250 motorcycle, a 2007 Kawasaki KXH motorcycle, and a 2005 Toyota passenger vehicle on King Edward Avenue in South Bruce Peninsula.

Witnesses report that the two motorcycles were being operated in a careless manner.

The Toyota was stopped at the intersection of King Edward Avenue and Eleventh Street when the 1990 Kawasaki slid past the vehicle whilst the 2007 Kawasaki collided with the car.

As a result of the investigation, the operator of the 1990 Kawasaki, a 16 year old male from Toronto, Ontario was charged with Careless Driving and Driving a Motor Vehicle – No Licence under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

The operator of the 2007 Kawasaki, a 16 year old male from Ayr, Ontario was charged with the criminal offence of Driving with More than 80 Milligrams of Alcohol in Blood. In addition, he was charged with Careless Driving and Driving a Motor Vehicle – No Licence under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on August 15, 2017.

Both motorcycle operators were injured. The extent of the injuries is not known at the time of this release.

The driver of the Toyota, an 18 year old female from Mississauga, Ontario, was not injured.
