Two Vehicle Crash Sends One To Hospital – 17 Year Old Charged With Fail To Yield

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Tuesday March 06, 2012 around 11:45 a.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Perth Line 32 (Lorne Ave.) and Road 122 (O’loane Ave.), resulting in one person being transported to hospital.

Investigation revealed that a west bound Chevy Uplander mini van on Perth Line 32 collided with a Dodge pickup truck which was south bound on Road 122. The pickup truck proceeded into the intersection in front of the mini van.

The crash resulted in injury to the female passenger of the mini van. She was transported to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries. The male driver of the mini van was not hurt. Both occupants of the mini van were residents of the Municipality of North Perth. The seventeen year old female driver of the pickup truck is a resident of the Township of Perth South. She did not sustain injuries but was charged with “fail to yield to traffic on through highway”.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and came to rest in the ditch / shoulder area south west of the intersection. At the time of the collision the roads were dry, it was clear and visibility was excellent.

The Perth County OPP wants to remind motorists to pay close attention and to “STOP and LOOK”. This collision was another preventable collision.
