Two Vehicle Collsion Sends 7 To Hospital

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Monday May 21, 2012, around 1:30 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a two vehicle crash along Perth Line 26 in Harmony.

Officers determined that Chevrolet Equinox was stopped in the west bound lane waiting for oncoming traffic to clear allowing for a safe turn into a private driveway when it was struck from behind by a west bound GMC Jimmy. The impact forced the Equinox into the south ditch where it struck a tree while the Jimmy ended up in the north ditch.

The two occupants of the Equinox sustained minor injuries as did the 5 occupants of the Jimmy. All 7 persons were transported by Perth County Ambulance to Stratford General Hospital where they were treated for their injuries. The driver of the Jimmy, a 33 year female from Brantford has been charged with “careless driving”, she is to appear in Stratford Court on July 10, 2012 to answer to this charge.
