Two Vehicle Collision – George Loree Drunk Driving, No Insurance, Drive While Suspended

(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) On Tuesday April 30, 2013 at approximately 9:05pm, County of Wellington Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to the report of a two vehicle collision on Wellington County Road 109 near 6th Line in Wellington North Township.

Investigation revealed the vehicles were travelling westbound on Road 109 when the collision occurred. Police spoke to the male driver of the 2003 Pontiac, who showed signs of alcohol consumption. Further investigation revealed the male was driving while under suspension, the vehicle had no insurance and the licence plates were not authorized for the vehicle.

The driver of the Sunfire was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was treated for minor injuries. The other driver was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries.

George Loree, age 55 of Wellington North has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is also charged with Drive While Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act, and Operate a Motor Vehicle with No Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph court on May 21, 2013 to answer to the charges.
