Two Unlocked Vehicles Stolen/Recovered

TWO UNLOCKED VEHICLES STOLEN / RECOVERED

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Monday March 26, 2012 a Mitchell resident attended the West Perth Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment in Mitchell to report that his Chevrolet Silverado had been stolen from his Jordan Crescent driveway sometime overnight.

A West Perth municipal employee contacted police and reported locating a Silverado pickup truck parked at Ketterson Park in Mitchell. The vehicle was parked between two of the animal shelters near the West Perth Community Centre.

Police called the owner to examine the truck to ascertain what had been removed from the vehicle. It was determined that his Garmin GPS unit and his Sirus Radio System had been taken from the vehicle. The gas gauge was on empty although it had been 3/4 full when he had parked it on his driveway. The spare keys for the truck, which are usually hidden inside the vehicle, were also missing.

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Monday March 26, 2012 shortly after 6 a.m., a Nelson Avenue South resident in Listowel contacted the Perth County OPP Detachment and reported the theft of his vehicle.

Investigation indicated that the owner had left his 1998 black Plymouth Breeze parked unlocked in his driveway. Sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Monday March 26, 2012, someone stole this vehicle (which has a damaged ignition and can be started with a screwdriver).

On Monday afternoon the vehicle in question was located in the Trinity United Church parking-lot at 230 Barber Avenue North. The vehicle did not appear to have been damaged but a 10” sub-woofer was missing from the trunk.
