Egging may be perceived as a funny act, in reality however it is the exact opposite. Thrown eggs may cause injuries when thrown at people or may cause damages when thrown at property. Thrown eggs can break windows of buildings, dent the body panels of vehicles or chip paint where the egg shell breaks, leaving an oval outline. Egg whites can degrade certain types of vehicle and house paint. Whether or not the egg damages the surface beneath it, dried egg can be difficult to remove, and removal attempts with scrapers or abrasives can damage the surface.
The Perth County OPP is reminding residents to observe for suspicious people or activities in your neighbourhood. Call police immediately, don’t delay; your information may help solve a crime.
