(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service’s Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating two separate shootings that left two victims injured this morning.
Male shot in the back
At about 1:20 a.m. Patrol officers responded to a shooting incident in the 1400 block of Station Boulevard. An altercation between several people occurred on the street and several shots were fired. A male victim sustained minor, non-life threatening injuries to his back as a result and was taken to hospital.
Police spoke with members of the public regarding the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Several people were observed fleeing from the scene in a beige vehicle.
Second incident – Woman injured, one person in custody
At about 4:30 AM police were called to the 1000 block of Appleton Drive in regards to a report of a shooting. A female victim was shot while sleeping in bed and sustained non-life threatening injuries to her foot. The shot originated from another apartment in the complex and the victim was completely unknown to the suspects.
One male suspect is in custody and two other individuals are currently being sought.
Both incidents remain under investigation.
