On October 19, 2013 at 2:16 a.m., the Guelph Police were travelling on Carden Street when they observed males kicking at another male that was on the ground. They approached the group to stop the altercation. One of the assaultive males fled on seeing police. Police pursued the male and were able to catch him a short distance away. The male forcefully resisted the officer in attempting to resist his arrest. Further officers attended and the male was taken into custody. A second male was also arrested at the scene. The victim was not seriously injured.
Saif SAMI, 21 years of Kitchener has been charged with cause disturbance by fighting, obstruct/resist arrest, assault police and breach recognizance. He will appear in court on October 23, 2013.
Adem MAYA, 21 years of Kitchener has been charged with assault and three counts of breach probation. He will appear in court on October 21, 2013.
